CVCU Accompanist
Susan
Lezan, pianist, accompanist, organist, choral director, singer and
teacher, has been playing accompaniments from childhood. At the
age of eleven, she had her first job as a ballet class accompanist for
the Cleveland Ballet. Her accompanying skills have continued and
have been rich and diverse, including musical theatre, Cleveland/San
Jose Ballet, Ukrainian Folk Dance, a Brown Bag recital at Trinity
Cathedral, the Noon Recital series at Messiah Lutheran Churh (David
Gooding), choral groups, churches, numerous vocal and instrumental
recitals, voice studio accompanist and recently a keyboardist in a rock
and roll tribute band. Currently, Ms. Lezan is the Director of
Music at Ss. Peter and Paul
Catholic Church in Garfield Heights. She is also a member of
the Fairmount Temple choir, Trinity
Cathedral Evensong Choir and St. John the Evangelist Music Director
Choir. Ms. Lezan also
substitutes as keyboardist for Fairmount Temple and and the St. Demetrios
Greek Orthodox Church. A great highlight of her accompaning career
was spending eight years as pianist for the Ohio Boychoir, Alexander
Musichuk-Founder and Director. During this time she toured with
the group to Russia, Canada, and the United States. Also, Ms.
Lezan founded a boy choir of her own, Artos, and traveled with
them to Wells Cathedral in England where they performed Carmina
Burana as well as concerts of boy choir repertoire for an English
Oratorio Festival, Sir Anthony Goodchild-Founder and Adrian
Lucas-Conductor. Most recently, Mr. Goodchild arranged for Ms.
Lezan to play one of the duo piano parts in for Rossini's Petite
Messe Solennelle in Chinon, France. Ms. Lezan has a Bachelor
of Piano performance degree from Baldwin-Wallace Conservatory and
continued on from there to the Cleveland Institutute of Music pursuing a
Masters in Theory/Composition. Ms. Lezan studies private voice
with David Gooding.
